The right plant makes all the difference
Not every plant suits a wire frame. The best ones have small leaves, a trailing or climbing habit, and grow densely enough to fill a shape cleanly.
Creeping Fig
Ficus pumila
Our number one recommendation. Tiny leaves cling naturally to wire mesh without any training. Fills a frame densely and evenly, giving the cleanest shape of any plant. Grows happily indoors in indirect light.
Baby Tears
Soleirolia soleirolii
Produces a lush carpet of tiny round leaves that weave beautifully through fine wire mesh. Fills shapes with a soft, mossy texture. Loves humidity — ideal in a bathroom or kitchen. Very fast growing.
English Ivy
Hedera helix
The classic topiary plant for good reason. Strong climbing tendrils grip wire naturally and it grows vigorously. Choose a small-leaved variety like 'Glacier' or 'Kolibri' for the neatest finish.
Creeping Jenny
Lysimachia nummularia
Bright chartreuse-yellow leaves that cascade over and through a frame cheerfully. Works beautifully for rounder shapes like bears or hearts. Can be grown indoors or on a sunny balcony.
Pothos
Epipremnum aureum
The most forgiving plant on this list. Extremely hard to kill, grows quickly, and will trail through a frame with gentle guiding. Best for larger, less detailed shapes. Ideal for beginners.

Soleirolia soleirolii 'Aurea'
A golden-leaved plant with an extremely fine texture. Creates an almost moss-like surface that looks stunning on animal frames. Thrives in bright indirect light and regular misting.
Wheatgrass Mix
Triticum aestivum
Germinates in just 3–5 days and fills a frame with lush, upright bright-green blades within 2–3 weeks. The fastest and most dramatic transformation. Included in every Grow Kit.
Creeping Thyme
Thymus serpyllum
A low, dense herb that creeps through wire mesh beautifully. Produces tiny purple flowers in summer and smells wonderful when touched. Takes 4–6 weeks to fill a frame but lasts for years.
Baby Tears from Seed
Soleirolia soleirolii
Sown densely into the base of the frame, Baby Tears grows upward and outward to create a soft, mossy-looking sculpture. Takes 6–8 weeks to fully fill. The fine texture makes simple shapes extraordinary.
Micro Basil
Ocimum basilicum 'Fino Verde'
A dwarf compact basil with tiny leaves that grows densely. Smells incredible, looks lush, and can be lightly harvested while maintaining shape. Best for heart or star frames placed in a sunny kitchen.
Cat Grass Blend
Dactylis / Festuca mix
A softer, more arching grass that creates a flowing natural-looking sculpture. Germinates in 5–7 days with soft sweeping blades. Beautiful on animal shapes — and cats love it too.
Lawn Chamomile
Chamaemelum nobile 'Treneague'
A non-flowering chamomile that forms a soft feathery green mat. Grows slowly but creates one of the most beautiful textures of any plant in our frames. Smells faintly of apples when touched.

The process
Choose a shape and format. Arrives in 3–5 days, carefully packaged to protect the frame.
Thread your plant through or plant the included seeds. Takes about 10 minutes.
Check in every few days. Watch the green slowly fill the shape over 3–8 weeks.
An occasional trim keeps the shape crisp. Your living sculpture lasts indefinitely.

No spam. Just a nudge when something new grows.
Wire frames contain small parts and sharp edges. Not suitable for children under 36 months. Adult supervision is required at all times when young children are present.
Steel wire edges can be sharp. We recommend handling frames with care, particularly when threading plants through the mesh. Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.
Keep frames out of reach of pets. Wire mesh can pose a risk if chewed or played with. Place your frame in an elevated or enclosed area if pets are present in the home.
Packaging materials including cardboard, tissue paper, and plastic sleeves should be disposed of responsibly. Keep plastic packaging away from infants and young children.
Grow Kits contain seeds and organic growing medium. Not for human consumption. Wash hands after handling soil. Store seeds in a cool dry place away from children.
Inspect your frame on arrival. If any wire ends are protruding or the frame is damaged in transit, do not use it. Contact us and we will send a replacement immediately.

All packaging must be disposed of responsibly and in accordance with your local waste regulations. Plastic sleeves and protective wrapping must be kept away from infants and young children. Wire to Wonder is not liable for injury or harm caused by improper disposal or storage of packaging materials.
All prices are in Euro (€) and inclusive of any applicable VAT. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase you enter into a binding contract with Wire to Wonder for the supply of the goods described.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1–2 business days. Estimated delivery is 3–5 business days within Ireland and 5–10 days to other EU countries. Wire to Wonder is not liable for delays caused by couriers or circumstances outside our control.
Wire to Wonder's liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods ordered. We accept no liability for indirect or consequential loss, damage to property, or personal injury arising from misuse of our products. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
